Disability Huntingdonshire (DISH) has two vacancies to work with them in the new year.

Mental Health Benefits Caseworker

Fixed term for 1 year
10 hours per week initially
Actual Salary: £6230.79 per annum
It is anticipated the hours will increase as the service develops

Role and Responsibilities: You will report to the Chief Executive and will deliver disability benefits support to clients affected by mental health issues.

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of clients, promoting the service to local stakeholders, and building strong partnerships with external providers of services. You will have a good knowledge and an understanding of advice giving in the key areas and the ability to support clients with mental health issues in a sensitive but empowering way. You will also have strong IT skills and be able to communicate clearly and effectively face-to-face, in writing and over the phone.

Chair of Trustees

Do you have a passion and commitment to supporting the most vulnerable in our community? Could you use your skills to support a small but vital local charity? Then we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for new Chair of Trustees to support us in developing ambitious goals over the next three years (from 2021). We have an excellent and committed staff team and a well-established and vibrant Board that is keen to step up and meet the new challenges that lie ahead.

The Chair of DISH will hold the Board, Chief Executive and Team to account for the charity’s mission and vision. They will provide inclusive leadership to the Board of Trustees and ensure that each Trustee fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity.

The Chair will also support and challenge the Chief Executive and ensure that the Board operates well as a team and works closely to achieve agreed objectives. They will act as an ambassador and the public face of the charity alongside the Chief Executive.
