Community Wardens x 2 (required in Cambridge City)

Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is an independent charitable organisation which exists to improve the quality of life for older people in the county.

• Are you looking for a rewarding role supporting older people to remain independent in their own homes?
• Do you want to help reduce loneliness and isolation for older people?
• Do you want to only work Monday to Friday with no weekend work?

If you answered yes, then we would love to hear from you.

The Community Warden supports older people to remain living in their own homes by providing them with practical daily support and assistance (no personal care involved). Tasks would include collecting prescriptions, small items of shopping, helping with letters and phone calls and ensuring safety and well-being. The warden will also be responsible for the promotion of the service within the area.

We have 30 hours per week to recruit to 2 Community Wardens to support this service.  Hours for each role can be negotiable for successful applicants and you would be required to support the other role in times of annual leave. The roles are:

1) Within Cambridge City (CB1, CB2). This role would suit a bike user (due to parking permit requirements in the City Centre)

2) Within the outskirts of Cambridge (CB3, CB4, CB5) delivery of the service in these areas requires you to be a car owner.

The service is provided from Monday to Friday.  Salary: £10.52 per hour.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake Disclosure and Barring Service check at an enhanced level.

Closing date for applications: Friday 12th August 2022
