Local charity Dreamdrops is welcoming donations of laptops and tablets to help children participate in home schooling.
Do you have a laptop or tablet that you no longer use that is just gathering dust or hidden away in a cupboard somewhere?
Local charity Dreamdrops can give it a new lease of life in order to help a child continue their education during these difficult times. Donate your device to the ‘Laptops for Schools’ project.
There is a desperate shortage of access to IT for children who are home schooling at the moment. Dreamdrops have joined together with i-dash Ltd of Eaton Socon, who are wiping and refurbishing machines, and CambsPAT (also from Eaton Socon) who are PAT testing them before the devices are given out to schools across the county.
Thanks to help from Dreamdrops Associate partners, nobody needs to leave their home/business in order to donate (in compliance with the government lockdown regulations), as they will collect the machines in a safe manner from the donors.
Devices must be portable. Apple, Android and Windows laptops and tablets are being sought. Windows devices must be running Windows 7 or above and all must not have cracked screens or require hard drive replacement.
Now more than ever this project is of the highest priority to support our children’s education.
